Welcome to my Amiga minisite/fansite!
For those of you who don't know, the Commodore Amiga was a computer system line produced from 1985 to 1996 (with machines capable of running modern versions of its operating system still being produced today). At the release of the first Amiga (Amiga 1000, but then just called Amiga), it placed a system far ahead of its time into the hands of the general public, with 32-colour graphics (up to 4096 in specially restricted modes), PCM sound, a pre-emptive multitasking operating system, and a full graphical user interface (whereas the IBM PC at the time had at best EGA graphics, PC speaker sound and, most commonly, DOS).
The Amiga is my favourite computer system, simply because (when working) it, for me at least, makes computing "fun" again. Many awesome games were released for Amiga, such as Cannon Fodder and the Lotus series of racing games, and often stood to benefit from the Amiga's custom chipset, which gave it a massive graphical advantage over the PC until the late 80s/early 90s... and even after the PC's 256-colour VGA took over its lead, the Amiga's 8-bit sound output continued to hold out well against the FM synthesis/PCM-based SoundBlaster!
What can be found on this site?
At the moment, not an awful lot. As I learn more about the Amiga, I hope to write some tutorials, guides and so on, because written help for the Amiga is becoming quite hard to come by.
